But if you're really looking to keep the price down, the Logitech HD C615 is still a decent option. You should also consider that for just $30 more you can get a decent mid-range webcam like the Logitech C922 Pro Stream. Some cameras can take a long time to get into focus, but we didn’t find that at all with the Logitech HD C615. Between these two features, the C615 does a nice job of keeping your face in focus and adjusting the white balance and exposure automatically to present natural-looking skin tones.

There is face tracking to keep tabs on which part of the frame is most important. The Logitech HD C615 offers autofocus to ensure that you’re sharp and in focus when you’re on film, whether that’s recording or streaming. But this compact design also makes it easier to adjust and move around if you have it attached to your monitor on your home computer (opens in new tab). It’s foldable and compact which means you can take it out and about with you if your laptop doesn’t have a built-in webcam (though all the best laptops (opens in new tab) do these days). The noise reduction also works great, keeping ambient noises down to a minimum.Īside from a couple of small issues, the C615 has an excellent design.

We were able to record crisp and clean audio that sometimes sounded better than more expensive webcams which offer dual-mic systems. The Logitech HD C615’s in-built microphone is surprisingly good for a webcam in this price range. Of course a webcam is more than just its camera lens, there’s also the microphone to consider.
